Server Rules
#1 No offline raiding or griefing
Or else the game becomes Rust.
#2 No killing pets
No one likes this man it makes everyone sad.
#3 Spawn is neutral and is to be kept nice
A leftover rule from the original Dylsshop SMP, also it's nice to have a place away from the politics.
#4 No hacking, abusing exploits, or abusive mods/resource packs
I'm not even going to explain why this is a rule because it's blatantly obvious.
#5 No Elytra
This is a more complicated explanation so check the disambiguation section to hear it.
#6 No stealing from shops
If we make that a habit the server devolves and the market ceases to be which hurts everyone.
#7 No Mace, Spear or Harming Potions/Arrows in combat
They are relatively easy to get and it results in a near instant kill if done right and there is no meaningful counter if you catch someone off-guard.
#8 No Cracking
Attempting to find the world seed, player positions, etc based on quirks of the game... will ruin the game for everyone, don't do it. I will be VERY strict about this one.
#9 No recording SMP content unless all parties agree and no posting online under any circumstances
You may not record gameplay, content or conversations about or in the SMP or the Discord server for social media or to be used against another member. You may only record if both parties agree or during official speeches.
Disambiguation
Who counts for offline raiding:
The owner of the base and in the case of countries the owner of that specific base (eg. a noble's town or citizen's home) and for the nation itself the leader. Attempting to abuse this rule by leaving during say a siege in a war will lose you your protection for that current operation.
What counts as a pet:
Any animal, mob, etc. that is a non-combatant, meaning they cannot have a meaningful impact on combat. So a mount, dog, etc. do NOT count unless they are sitting/tied up, as a dog can attack and a mount increases the effectiveness of a player's mobility.
What counts as spawn:
"Spawn" is defined as anywhere within 512 blocks of the world origin (X: 0, Z: 0) thus making anywhere within X: -512, Z: -512 and X: 512, Z: 512 the "Spawn" region. No one can claim spawn, they can claim small pieces they build on but they need approval to build a base as to not interfere with other players. The only parts of spawn that can be claimed by a nation are small embassies which are to be walled off.
What is an abusive mod/resource pack:
Any mod that gives an unfair advantage like seeing damage numbers or resource packs like changing the invisibility particles to be easily seen, making tripwires and trapped chests red or X-ray. Just because something isn't listed here doesn't mean it doesn't count, use your brain: does it give you a noticeable advantage that vanilla players don't have? Eg. Fullbright is fine as it doesn't give an ADVANTAGE and a vanilla player could just turn up their gamma.
Why no Elytra:
The Elytra makes all other forms of transport obsolete (because you have more speed and range of motion than any other form of transport without any of the setup others require) thus with it banned players if they want to get around faster will need to build infrastructure which will give people more to do and increase server health and longevity and also make other players want to build infrastructure and bases near said infrastructure which will lead to a positive feedback loop of building. You can obtain the Elytra when the End opens but no USING it except maybe to get back to the main End island, we'll see.
What is cracking:
Cracking is identifying sensitive information such as the world seed, player positions, etc. from technical information such as bedrock patterns, rendering issues, etc. For finding player or stash positions it does not count if the info used is obvious like shown coordinates or obvious landmarks.
